World Snow Celebration – Know Before You Go

Stillwater is proud to host the 4th Annual World Snow Sculpting Championship competition and World Snow Celebration! 
Teams from around the world will travel to Stillwater to create amazing snow sculptures and compete in the World Snow Sculpting Championships! This will be a judged event and will include social events, activities, ceremonies, the people’s choice award, and will be fun for the whole family. 


Schedule:

Wednesday, January 15
Official Kick-Off – 8:45 am – Location: Lowell Park
Post Kick Off Bloody Mary Bar – 9:00 am – Location: Water Street Inn
Opening Ceremony – 5:00 pm – (SOLD OUT)

Thursday, January 16
Teams will be sculpting their creations all day and into the evening –

Saturday. January 25
Frozen Flannel Mini Curling Competition  – 9 am – Location: Lowell Park

Sunday. January 26 
Fat Tire Bike Rally – 10 am – 2 pm – Location: River Siren Brewing
Open Skate with Saint Croix Valley Figure Skating Club – 10 am – 12 pm

Ride one of the Stillwater Trolleys

FREE shuttles will run Saturday and Sunday during the World Snow Sculpting Championship event! Parking will be in the Harbor Freight parking lot and riders will be dropped off at the Pedestrian Plaza next to the public restrooms and 
The Daily Grind Espresso Cafe in downtown Stillwater.

Twelve locations in Stillwater, MN will create a cultural experience and feature a team’s homeland in their business during this year’s World Snow Sculpting Championship!

Find Stilly the Snowman

Find Stilly the Snowman Scavenger Hunt around Downtown Stillwater! Pick up your stamp card at participating businesses and collect 12 or more stamps at the locations where you find Stilly! Stamps can be collected starting January 1, 2025 – January 26, 2025.

Bring your stamp card to the Warming House & Indoor market at the World Snow Celebration or to participating businesses to receive your Stilly sticker!

 

Candlight Winter Walk

Friday, January 17th, experience the beauty of the Browns Creek Trail and embrace the winter fresh air as you walk along a candlelit path next to the scenic St. Croix River. The walk is approx. 1 mile and begins at the North end of Lowell park. Hot cider will be hosted by HealthPartners. Join us at your leisure anytime between 5:00 – 8:00 pm

Event Button

The World Snow Celebration buttons are back for another year! Pick up yours at one of the participating businesses—This year’s design was created by Stillwater Area High School senior, Hannah. Your button not only gets you a free hot chocolate at the Concession Tent in Lowell Park from January 16–19, but also unlocks special deals at local businesses. Be sure to ask about the daily promotions when you visit, and don’t miss out on all the festive fun! Plus, head to the hospitality tent from January 17–19 with your button for an extra treat!

Can’t make the event dates? No problem! Weather permitting, the sculptures will be up in Lowell Park for viewing for up to two weeks after January 18, 2025.
