Art Reach St. Croix

This non-profit promotes visual, literary and performing arts along the St. Croix River. Located across from the Stillwater Library, the light-filled galleries at ArtReach host rotating exhibitions of artists inspired by living along the St. Croix. The shows change frequently and feature ceramics, printmaking, painting, glass and more. View a list of local artists on their website as well and stop into their gift gallery.

Brekke Park

Disc golf with narrow fairways and plenty of obstacles it also provides a challenge to the veteran disc golfer.

Historic Lift Bridge

Stillwater’s lift bridge was built in 1931 and spans the St. Croix River between Stillwater and Houlton, WI. It is one of a few remaining operating lift bridges in the U.S. today. In 2020, the conversion from a highway to a pedestrian/bike trail only bridge was completed.

Historic Stillwater Library

The original 1901 design was a one story Renaissance Revival made possible by Andrew Carnegie. Many changes have taken place over the years but much original beauty remains including stained glass windows and wrought iron shelving.

Historic Stillwater Stairs

Stillwater is built on steep hills. Climb the 5 sets of historic stairs built as early as 1871 for great exercise and views from the top! Wind your way through downtown to find them all (about 3 mile/1 hour walk).

Lowell Park

This is the riverfront area of downtown Stillwater where many events are held. Take in a riverside walk or picnic in the grassy areas, view the historic lift bridge from this park.

Pine Point Regional Park

Pioneer Park

Stop by for one of the best view of Stillwater as the park is perched on a bluff on the northern side of downtown. Playground, shelter, BBQ, private rental spaces for weddings and events.

St. Croix Boom Site

River site of the log boom from 1856-1914 where timber from upriver was sorted and stored before going to downstream sawmills. Located north of downtown on Hwy. 95 wayside.

St. Croix Scenic Byway

Stillwater is located on the St. Croix Scenic Byway (State Hwy. 95 which runs through historic downtown Main Street) and is not far off the path of one of America’s Byways called the Great River Road in MN or WI that runs along the Mississippi River from Canada all the way to the Gulf of Mexico. To connect to Stillwater, head north on Hwy 95 from Hwy 61 in Hastings, MN.

Teddy Bear Park

An award-winning urban seasonal park is a paradise for young kids. Kids climb on giant Teddy Bears, a giant train, and a crazy tree house with slides. Parking available across the street. FREE and open to the public 8am-8pm mid-April through mid-October.
